Recent works, Troubled Waters

Troubled Waters, an etching made from two zinc plates layering soft, aquatinted forms, reflects on memory, layers of time and place, and refers to the North Sea,  grey waters and this line from the legendary Foggy Dew.

‘Their lonely graves are by Suvla's waves on the fringe of the great North Sea.’

Generator: Systems, Logic and the Analogue Art of Programming

This show includes the work of eight artists from across the UK who make contemporary reductive, geometric and systems-based abstract art works. The exhibition presents a selection of artwork that is by nature 'generative', created once the artists employ an external system or set of rules.

Thursday 9th April, 9.15-5.00, Conference location: The Lighthouse, Glasgow.

The event will include a tour of the work commissioned by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and explore opportunities to develop and sustain creative-led social and environmental initiatives within the healthcare setting, building on and going beyond the capital design investment of public art programmes.

The conference will be of interest to health care professionals, artists and cultural organisations delivering, or looking to deliver on health care agendas.

Seeking balance, 'equilibrium', with notions of simultaneous  colour contrast adding to and disturbing this equilibrium.  The works will be made to a 50cm square format as a celebration of the five decades of the existence of the Printmaker's Council.
